Alan Merrigan has been behind a camera for more than half his life, starting with shooting for his High School yearbook. He has photographed a wide variety of subjects and locations, from the shores on the island of Kauai to the streets of New Orleans. His favorite subjects however, are people, and especially couples on their wedding day,

Since the advent of digital photography, wedding photography has forever changed. Gone are the stiffly posed portraits from previous generations. With a nearly limitless supply of possible images, creative poses, spontaneous pictures, and candids are now the norm.

"Digital photography allows me to photograph 3 or 4 times what I would have shot with film, capturing many more of the days beautiful moments."

Alan is also an award-winning member of Wedding & Portrait Photographers International - An organization that helps uphold a higher standard for wedding photographers along with providing a source of continuing education and training. Alan's partner in this, and in life, is his wife Heidi. Together for 7 years they have 2 boys and a multitude of pets.
